Surgeon Cleared of Wrongdoing
D&C prevailed in successfully defending a prominent Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon in an action alleging negligent surgical treatment, which resulted in an above the knee amputation. The case involved a motorcycle accident where the operator sustained traumatic injury to the blood supply of the leg and surrounding tissue, which ultimately rendered the leg non-viable. D&C was able to demonstrate that the surgical technique was performed in a proper and timely fashion and that the loss of the limb was directly and solely attributable to the severity of the underlying trauma.
