At Least 1 Killed, 45 People Injured in Rollover Accident
Early on Thursday, September 21st, a bus carrying students rolled over on Interstate 84 in Orange County, New York. The accident took place around 75 miles north of New York City. Tragically, there has been 1 reported death and at least 45 injured.
The Details of the Crash
According to cnn.com, the bus carrying students was traveling from Farmingdale High School in Long Island to Greeley, PA for band camp. Aerial photos show the devastating footage of the passenger bus in the forest median between the east and westbound roads. One can assume the bus veered off the road and rolled over, possibly multiple times, before landing in this spot.
I-84 has since been shut down at exit 15A, creating space for first responders to fully assess the situation. While a full report on the extent of the injuries is forthcoming, New York State Police said there were “multiple serious injuries.”
